What is Plastic Aadhaar ?

It is a plastic card made of PVC material (a tough plastic) in which one’s adhaar data is printed, which looks like laminated Driving licence / college id card / employee card  and compact enough to fit inside the pouch similar to credit card or Pan card size.

Plastic or PVC Aadhaar Smart Card is not usable:

Why UIDIA bans plastic Aadhaar card printing?

Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) asked citizens to stay away frm vendors or outlets that make plastic Aadhaar card or PVC smart cards as it is unusable. This is due to unauthorised printing of QR codes on the card at these shops which makes the card dysfunctional.

Elements who are printing Aadhaar on a plastic/PVC sheet and charging anywhere between Rs 50 and Rs 300 or more.
