New Mobile App Launched For Unreserved Tickets By Indian Railways:

Railways has introduced a mobile app along with other facilities, including booking and cancellation of unreserved tickets. The Ministry of Railways has said in a statement that there are facilities for renewal of seasonal and platform tickets, investigation and loading of R-Wallet arrears and user profile management and booking history.

The Railway Information Systems Center (CRIS) has developed a mobile based application ‘Atasomobile’. Users can download this app for FREE from Google Play Store or Windows Store. According to the statement, the passengers can register themselves first by giving details of their mobile number, name, city, railway’s default booking, category, ticket type, number of passengers and frequent travel routes.

On registration, the passenger’s Zero Balance Rail Wallet (R-Wallet) will be automatically generated. There will be no extra charge for making R-Wallet. R-Wallet can be recharged on any UTS counter or through the options available on the website. Advance ticket booking is not allowed. That is, the journey will always be carried out in the current date. According to the statement, passengers can also travel tickets without ticket. When the ticket inquiry worker asks for ticket, show ticket in the Passenger App using the ‘Show Tickets’ option.

The ‘Astonomobile’ application is capable of booking and cancellation of unreserved tickets, renewal of timetable and platform tickets, check and load the arrears of R-Wallet. It is helpful in maintaining user details and booking information.

Very easy and free ‘affordable’ application is available on Android and Windows smart phones. Users can download this app for free from the Google Play Store or Windows Store.

Ticket booking will not be possible if mobile internet connection is not working.

Advance tickets are not permitted for booking, i.e. will always be made in the current date.

Paperless Tickets: Travelers can travel without hard print (hardcopy) too. When the ticket inquiry worker asks for ticket, in the passenger app, show the ticket using the ‘Show Tickets’ option.

Paper Ticket: Passenger can book tickets through this mobile app. Upon booking the ticket, the passenger will get the booking ID along with other ticket details. Booking details will also be available in the booking history. The booking ID will also be communicated via SMS.
