Karnataka Ration card – How To Apply & Enrollment & Link Aadhar card to Ration card:
Karnataka will be the first State in the country to have biometric bar-coded ration cards. These laminated cards will be issued soon to every household by the Food and Civil Supplies Department in a bid to ensure transparency and accountability in the public distribution system (PDS).
Photos of all family members will be printed on the card. The biometrics system is being introduced to act as a check on bogus ration cards that are rampant across the State.
How To Enrollment for Ration card:
This service is to facilitate an opportunity to citizens of Karnataka to get enroll for Ration Card Service through Bangalore One. Citizen has to furnish all required supporting documents along with an Introducer. Citizen has to be accompanied with all his/her family members physically at the time of enrollment. Bangalore One charges 50/- for each enrollment. Bangalore One updates transaction data to Food and Civil Supplies Department daily so that processing of respective request can be processed.

Another important benefit of the ration card is its use as a legally accepted and valid proof of identity that is acceptable everywhere in the Government machinery as well as in the private sector.
How To Apply the New Ration Card Karnataka:
The Government of Karnataka has greatly simplified the application process for a new Ration Card.There is no requirement for any other document apart from the Aadhar card.Though, we list other accepted Documents for ration card application.
The process now uses details from the Aadhar card of the applicant and his family members once they are authenticated through either the online or the offline method.
Documents Personal identification:
Your birth certificate.
Your PAN card.
Your report card from school showing that you have cleared the 10th grade.
A transfer certificate from your school which would have your birth date printed on it.
Proof Of Address:
Electricity and telephone bills which may have been issued recently.
Agreement of the house.
A certificate of transfer from any school which contains the date of birth of the applicant.
A Mark sheet of the 10th grade to ensure that the applicant has received some education.
Types of Ration card in Karnataka:
Three categories of Ration card:
1.The Below Poverty Line (BPL) ration card is provided to families who earn less than Rs. 10,000/- per annum. The card gives them access to commodities at subsidized prices.
2.The APL or the Above Poverty Line Ration Card is provided to families with an annual income above Rs. 10,000/-. However, APL cardholders are not entitled to any subsidy benefits.
3.The Antyodaya card is a ration card provided to the poorest of the families, which have unstable income levels. They are entitled to numerous benefits under the Antyodaya Anna Yojana.
Procedure to Apply New Ration Card:
Candidates first of all visit the official web portal http://ahara.kar.nic.in/
Select the E-services and next, proceed to sub-menu named ‘e-Ration’ and you will be able to see the application form for a new ration card.
Then, select your preferred language english or kannada, click the new ration card request options.
And type of apply the card is an Non-Priority Household (NPHH).
To apply the Priority household PHH) card you require Bio-metric device as Bio-verification is Mandatory.
Then, Enter your Aadhar Number and authenticate yourself with either fingerprint verification or through a One Time Password (OTP) sent to your mobile number registered with your Aadhar.
Once your identity is authenticated then add option for your family member and delete your family member in the ration card.
