Jharkhand Villages

Jharkhand state includes 22 districts spreaded in an area of 74,677 Sq kmis bordered by Chattisgarh, Bihar, Orissa, and West Bengal to its north, west, south and east respectively. Thirty-five percent of the population of earlier Bihar is in the jharkhand state. With its big reserves of forests & natural resources, things can only feel in this predominantly poverty driven region.

The total Population is 2,18,43,911 i.e., 274 persons / Sq. km in 18+4 districts. The Languages included here are Santhali, Nagpuria, Sadri, Khariya, Mundari, Kurukh, Khortha, Panchparagnia, Ho, Malto, Karmali, Hindi, Urdu, and Bangla. The celebration festivals are Sohrai, Badna, Tusu, Id, Sarhul, Karma, X-mas, Holi, and Dushahra. The Folk Music are Janani Jhumar, Mardana Jhumar, Akhariya Domkach, Dohari Domkach, Faguwa, Udasi, Pahilsanjha, Adhratiya, Vinsariya, Pawas, Daidhara, Pratkali, Jhumta etc.

The Folk dance performed are Karma, Nachni, Natua, Paika, Chaw, Jadur, Agni, Choukara, Matha, Sohrai, Santhal, Jamda, Ghatwari, Lurisayro etc.

The Rivers are South Koel, Kharkai, Swarna Rekha, Koyal, sankh, Son, Auranga, Damodar, Mayurakshi, barakar, More, Karo, Bansloi, Ganga, Gumani, Batane.
