The Consumer Affairs Food & Public Distribution headquartered at Manipur is accountable for procurement of Food grains and few other essential commodities. It is responsible to build e-maintenance of Stocks and their storage, supply & delivery to the distribution venues, verifying and regulation or Sale of POL Products, liquid petroleum gas and control of adulteration of products and much more. It secures interest of consumers, the State Commission & District Fora for readdress of consumers disputes under the CPA.
It is the office to implement the Targeted Public Distribution System aka TPDS that makes available of foodgrains and other essential items comprising SK Oil and sugar to Antyodaya Anna Yojana, AAY, BPL, Below Poverty Line, APL and Above Poverty Line families in Manipur.
The prescribed application format is to be given along with a photo copy of residential proof like driving licence, house rent receipt, bank passbook, electricity/ telephone bill, identity card, allotment letter of quarters and NOC from house owner or a agreement copy if the building is rented.
Along with it, an affidavit of the applicant declaring no ration card, is too needed.
- In case of ration card transfer, the cardholder should present the previous ration card cancellation certificate from the issuing authority.
- For inclusion of new born childs’ name in the prevailing ration card should attach a birth certificate and apply.
- Likewise for spouse inclusion, a deletion certificate is required from the earlier ration card.
