The private & public sector banks have started Aadhaar enrolment and updation centres within their premises. The Aadhaar card issuing body has fixed a due date for banks to open Aadhaar enrolment and updation centres across 15000 branches. This is the 2nd extension provided to the banks for opening such centres.

State Bank of India begun Aadhaar enrolment centres in about 356 of the needed 2,918 branches. The Syndicate Bank too commence these aadhaar venues across 245 of the targeted 840 branches. Simulataneously, Dena Bank has opened 194 enrolment centres as against 339 determined branches.

Amongst the private sector banks, HDFC bank has opened seventy-four centres as against 403 branches determined, whereas ICICI Bank has made it in fifty-nine branches against 485 aimed branches. Axis Bank has declared starting sixty-one enrolment centres as against 337 branches existing.

The PNB has to open enrolment centres across 1,132 branches. Likewise UCO Bank & Vijaya Bank have started 12 and 19 such venues respectively, against the projected 380 and 213 bank branches.

The Bank Aadhaar Kendras are being formed with a view to have the Aadhaar verification process of bank accounts ease for the people.
